In just six short months, three friends will be travelling from three different continents to meet up at the starting line of what might be the coolest thing any of us have ever done — participating in the Mongol Rally. We’re driving from London to Mongolia in a compact car. We’ll face deserts, mountains, river crossings, angry bill goats — you name it, it will probably cross our path at some point along our 10,000 mile route.
Now if you’ve been reading SOTC, you might remember my initial post about signing up for the Mongol Rally. Since then our team has done a little shuffling, but we’re now official and we even have a name! Team “Yes We Khan!” is counting down the days and from here on out, there will be a lot more to update you on as we continue to seek sponsorship, fund-raise, and convince each other that this is totally no big deal. Totally.
And as if this experience needed some extra excitement, team “Yes We Khan!” would like to invite our supporters to add even more spice to our bubbling pot of adventure.
Do We Dare??
I have an inkling that I will seriously regret this idea — but what the Hell. We’d like to invite you to propose dares or challenges to us along our route, attached to a donation to our charity. Come up with something absurd that you want to see us do — it can be directed to just one or all of us — and state how much of a donation you think that dare is worth. Be fair guys — try not to put our lives in danger and if you do, then you’d better attach a big ass donation to it. (Oh, and no animal cruelty. Duh.) If we accept the challenge, we’ll let you know and then you can donate your offer to our team’s charity, the Lt. Dougie Dalzell Memorial Trust which goes to veterans and their families.
We are 100% committed to attempting every dare that we accept and to provide video or photographic evidence of completion. Should we fail to complete any of your dares, we’ll pay you back from our own pockets. Considering we’ll be collecting cigarette butts to trade for cans of beans by the end of this thing, you can be sure we will do everything in our power to not owe you people a stinkin’ dime by completing all of our dares and raising a ton of money for a great cause!
We’ve got plenty of ideas already but we’re not giving any of them to you so get creative! Feel free to make them location specific. The following countries are ones we’ll almost definitely be passing through. You can seek inspiration from our route and any specific landmarks you’d be interested in seeing us cover.
Germany
Czech Republic
Poland
Ukraine
Russia
Kazakhstan
Mongolia
So, have at it! Just leave your dare in the comments section below and be sure to include how much you’d be willing to donate to our charity. This is your chance to become an even bigger part of our adventure. We’re terrified very excited to see what you all come up with…
Once we’ve accepted you dare, donations can be made HERE! Thank you!!

A few ideas from a former fraternity scavenger hunt captain come to mind.
– A photo of the team in each country including a man with a beard – bonus points if the photo includes Britany planting a kiss on the check of said man. (this should be a lay-up in Eastern Europe!)
– A photo of the team in front of a local retail store-front, mimicking a display window or modeling retail offerings. (Could be a challange in Mongolia – Can you model at the goat and yak store?)
– A photo sampling the local adult libation in each country. (obviously a non-driver option!)
A bunch more where these came from – but a good start!
Steve
Whoops! – Kiss on the Cheek. Nobody wants to see anyone kissing a man’s check!
These are great! Hows about I kiss a man with a beard on the cheek for a $10 donation, or a man in every country for a $50 donation…
Photo of our team in front of a local retail story modeling retail options… $20 donation
Would you like to commit to one of these dares, Steve?
You get a postcard from every country we visit for being the first one to dare us if you do!

First official dare is in! Steve has dared me to get a picture of myself kissing a man with a beard on the cheek in every country we cross through for a $50 donation to Lt. Dougie Dalzelll Memorial Trust Fund. I’m ready to pucker up for a good cause. Let’s get some more dares in here, and someone pick on the boys next time!!
